The guides are general rules of thumb. Healthy levels vary a lot by industry and business model, so compare against your sector and your own history.

Results are estimates for general information. They are not tax, legal or financial advice. Rules and rates change, so please check with an advisor before you act on them.

How it works

Enter figures from your balance sheet and income statement. The tool works out liquidity (can you pay short-term bills), leverage (how much is funded by debt), profitability and efficiency ratios.

Each ratio is compared with a common rule of thumb. Healthy levels differ by industry, so compare against your sector and your own trend over time.

Questions

What is a good current ratio?

Often 1.2 to 2. Below 1 can signal difficulty paying short-term liabilities; well above 2 can mean cash or stock is sitting idle. It depends on the business model.

Where do I find these numbers?

In your latest financial statements: current assets and liabilities on the balance sheet, revenue and profit on the income statement.
